1 in 4 children in our community are “food insecure”, which means that they are not sure when, or from where, their next meal will come. Families are increasingly being described by the term “working poor”, as they address the economic realities that force them to choose between food and other essentials. Government resources are stretched to the limit in trying to adequately address the problem. Other non-profit organizations are not able to keep up with increasing demand. Creative solutions, such as the Community Outreach Center, are required from our community leaders in order to continually address this overwhelming problem. That is why successful business owners, and community leaders decided to establish the Community Outreach Center. After many years of supporting non-profit organizations that are feeding the needy in our community, they decided that more was needed, and that they could make a personal difference.
